Wet rod mill

  • Product Introduction: A grinding machine using steel rods as the grinding medium.
  • Capacity: 0.62~250t/h
  • Applications: Rod mill is mainly used for rough grinding operations. It is suitable for fine crushing and coarse grinding of ores in section open road grinding, and is especially suitable for processing brittle materials.
  • Product Improvements: Huston wet rod mill has three types of rod mills: overflow rod mill, end peripheral discharge rod mill, and center peripheral discharge rod mill, which can meet the different needs of customers.

Advantages and Features

  • The cone-shaped end cover of the rod mill has a small curvature, which allows the steel rods to move regularly in the mill
  • the diameter of the hollow shaft for discharging the ore is large, which is convenient for maintenance
  • it can also reduce the slurry liquid level and quickly discharge the ore
  • the product particle size is uniform and there is little over-crushing.

Working Principle

Working Principle

The rod mill is driven by the motor through the reducer and the surrounding large gear reduction transmission, or by the low-speed synchronous motor directly through the surrounding large gear reduction transmission to drive the cylinder to rotate. The cylinder is equipped with appropriate grinding media – steel rods. The grinding medium is lifted to a certain height under the action of centrifugal force and friction, and then falls down in a falling or leaking state. The ground material continuously enters the inside of the cylinder from the ore feeding port, is crushed by the moving grinding medium, and is discharged out of the machine through overflow and continuous ore feeding force for the next step of operation. The ore discharge method of the rod mill adopts the overflow type and open ore discharge method. The diameter of the hollow journal at the discharge end is larger than that of the ball mill of the same specification. Generally, when the ore is not too hard or soft (especially the sticky ore), the rod mill can replace the short-head cone crusher for fine crushing operations. When grinding 19-30mm ore to 6-12 mesh, the configuration is simpler and the cost is lower than that of cone crushing and screening into closed circuit.

Case Study

Case Study

In a foreign mineral processing plant, the ore material produced by the grinding system contains water and mud, and the particle sizes vary too much. When a section of the circuit is open, the grinding efficiency is relatively low and the discharge quality is relatively poor, far from reaching the predetermined goal. Therefore, Huston’s wet rod mill was selected. This rod mill has a small curvature of the conical section cover, and the steel rod moves regularly, so the grinding particle size of the steel rod is more uniform. Finally, the problem of the mineral processing plant was solved, so that the mineral processing work could be completed efficiently within the specified time.
